Down the line, guys! This line is just a faction

Jubilee Committee Chairman, Sandra Sarll is a bit of a flag guru on the QT. Here we find her comparing union jacks with Val Letowski, having barely had five minutes to recover from masterminding the village’s ‘dress the house’ contest.
Val’s gold dress is about to come in handy as she picks up a surprise award - that of ‘most photographed woman in Arlesey’. Yes, Val and her family have made several appearances in the local press just lately!

They say that waving a union jack eventually turns your hair red, white and blue as can be clearly seen here.
I
t is Her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee after all, so the Playgroup Queen duly obliged having dyed her best frock the night before.

More union flag inspections on the High Street. To the left, the WI Hall with its fantastic ‘photobition’ of Arlesey ‘past and present’, to the right the one and only Doug Landman, resplendent in his yellow ‘stewards’ jacket, which was kindly loaned by Gothic Mede Lower School - the shape of things to come as the school looks to roll-out plans to create a ‘walking bus’ - getting pupils to school safely.
